Privacy Policy – Talvo

This Privacy Policy describes how the Talvo app collects, uses, and protects data during its use. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.
1. No account, no personal identification
Talvo does not ask for an account, an email, or a phone number. An anonymous identifier (UUID) is generated and stored only on your device on first launch - it is used locally only (for future data exports/imports) and is never sent to a server.
2. Data we process
a. Content you write (the "personalize an affirmation" feature)
If you use the feature that turns a negative thought into a positive affirmation, the text you enter (and your first name if you provided one) is sent to a third-party artificial intelligence service (by default, the OpenAI API) solely to generate the response. This text may contain personal reflections - we do not store it on our own servers and do not use it for any other purpose.
b. Content and preferences saved locally
Your saved affirmations, favorite categories, streaks, unlocked badges, and settings (language, font, notifications, visual theme) are stored only on your device (secure local storage). They are never sent to or synced with a server.
c. Notifications
Daily reminders are scheduled entirely on your device via the operating system. No notification token or identifier is sent to an external server.
d. Ambient visual and sound content
Some visual backgrounds (photos) are retrieved from Pexels, a public royalty-free photo service, based on generic keywords (e.g. "nature," "pastel sky") - no personal data is sent to this service. Ambient sounds are bundled directly within the app and require no internet connection.
e. Anonymized usage statistics
Talvo uses Amplitude to measure, in an aggregated and anonymized way, how the app is used (e.g. app opens, categories viewed, badges unlocked, paywall usage) - solely to improve the product. These events are associated with the anonymous identifier mentioned in point 1, never with your name, email, or any other personally identifying information. You can disable the collection of these statistics at any time in the app's settings.
f. Advertising tracking (TikTok, Android only)
On Android, Talvo uses the TikTok Events SDK to measure the effectiveness of its TikTok ad campaigns (for example: app install, free trial started, premium subscription). These events are sent to TikTok along with an advertising identifier specific to your device, but never your name, email, or phone number. This feature is not yet active on iOS. You can limit advertising tracking at the device level through your Android system's privacy settings.
g. No crash reporting
Aside from the statistics and advertising tracking described above, Talvo does not integrate any crash reporting tool at the time this policy was written. We do not collect your geographic location, do not access your camera or microphone, and do not sell or rent any data beyond the sharing described here.
3. Data sharing
The data that leaves your device is: the text sent to the artificial intelligence service described in point 2.a (only when you use that feature), the anonymized usage events sent to Amplitude described in point 2.e, and, on Android, the advertising events sent to TikTok described in point 2.f. We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
4. Premium subscription
Talvo offers (or will offer) a premium subscription managed via Apple and Google's in-app purchase systems, through a third-party subscription management provider. No payment information (card number, etc.) passes through Talvo or is stored by us - this information is managed directly by Apple/Google.
5. Your rights
Since Talvo does not collect any personally identifiable data on a remote server, there is no account or profile to delete on our end. You can at any time:
- Delete all of your local data by uninstalling the app
- Disable notifications in your device's settings
- Disable the collection of anonymized usage statistics in the app's settings
- Contact us with any question about your data (see section 7)
6. Changes to this policy
This policy may evolve, particularly if new features involving data processing are added (for example when the premium subscription is fully activated). Any significant change will be reflected by an update to the date at the top of this page.
